Summer is a great time to get a head start on college applications so you can enjoy your senior year! There are several things you can be doing now.
Create a Common Application account and get started. Although the application "rolls over" on August 1 for the 2024-25 application season, students can still complete the body of the Common Application now.
Write the Common App Essay. Choose an interesting story that showcases your strengths.
Research and identify the college list. Visit colleges and talk with current students to identify a balanced list of safety, match and reach colleges.
Be ready on August 1 to complete the supplemental applications and essays for colleges. HINT: Most colleges have at least 1 essay specific to their school.
Utilize the month of August to submit "rolling" application due dates and complete supplemental essays.
